Camouflage nets in Ukraine are a matter of survival. They protect soldiers, military equipment, and civilian infrastructure from drones and surveillance by Russian forces. Support the production of as many nets as possible.

Anti-drone and camouflage nets are an essential part of Ukraine’s defense. Across the country, thousands of volunteers hand-weave them every day. Through the Motanka initiative, we organize the production of camouflage nets in the Czech Republic. Our goal is to deliver thousands of nets to Ukraine over the next year, directly to frontline military units.

What will be purchased?

We will procure various types of camouflage nets in colors appropriate to the season and their specific use. The nets are made by hand: elements are woven into mesh with a rigid or flexible base, forming special irregular camouflage patterns.

Funds will be used to purchase materials suitable for different types of terrain and weather conditions, as well as to cover production and transportation of finished nets directly to military units in Ukraine.

The nets are used to conceal vehicles, trenches, and troop movements on the front line. They also help physically disrupt attacking drones. After drone strikes or changes of position, the nets are often damaged or destroyed, which means the demand for them is constant. As many nets as can be produced are needed.

Double impact

The production of camouflage nets takes place in Czech–Ukrainian community centers. This also supports social programs for the most vulnerable families who have found refuge in the Czech Republic—especially mothers with small children, seniors, and people with disabilities, who often face difficulties finding work. Weaving the nets helps them get through a difficult period while remaining part of a community.

Support the initiative

Producing camouflage nets requires significant resources. You can support the Motanka initiative financially—donations are used to purchase materials, organize production, cover logistics, and support volunteers.

If you live in the Czech Republic and would like to get involved personally, you can join the weaving of camouflage nets at Motanka centers, which operate in several cities and continuously welcome new volunteers.

If you would like to take part, please register at motanka.org.

An anonymous donor

The campaign has received an extraordinary contribution from an anonymous donor. A respected Czech entrepreneur, who chose not to disclose their name, donated CZK 100,000,000 (approximately €4,100,000), including CZK 3,000,000 (approximately €123,000) specifically for this campaign. Thanks to this contribution, we can expand our activities.

About us

The gift for Putin was initiated in 2022 as a project to support the defense of Ukraine. In 2023, we became an independent non-profit organization. Supporting Ukraine’s defense, we collaborated with the Embassy of Ukraine in Prague to send equipment worth over 1 billion CZK, and we will continue doing so until Ukraine is free and safe again.

How is this legal?

The Czech Republic (where our fund was established) is one of the few countries where it is not only legal, but explicitly supported by law, for non-profit organizations to raise funds for weapons and military supplies for the Ukrainian army.

How do I get confirmation of my donation?

Select any campaign and if you leave the “I need a donation receipt” option checked, a form will automatically appear where you can enter all the necessary information. Once you complete the payment, the confirmation will be sent to your email automatically. For card payments it’s immediate, for bank transfers it may take a few days.

What about the e‑shop?

From the e‑shop profit (about two thirds of the price) we will pay production, storage and distribution; part of the proceeds will be used to run the fund and the remainder will be invested in weapons for the Ukrainian army.

Will you really buy the exact thing I'm funding?

Yes, that is correct. When you contribute to a specific campaign—like Tomáš the Tank or the Viktor air defense system—your funds are used solely for that specific purpose. Although we occasionally purchase equipment while fundraising is still ongoing, it typically happens once the campaign finishes.

The time between the campaign's conclusion and delivery to Ukraine can vary from days to months. The defense industry is complicated, but we keep everyone informed about the entire process on Twitter and through media outlets.
